You Might Be An Eccentric If …

After completing a 10-year scientific investigation on eccentricity Dr. David Weeks, a Scotland-based psychologist, found that his 1000 subjects shared or exhibited 25 key characteristics.

According to Dr. Weeks, the first 10 of these are the strongest indicators of eccentricity:

  1. Enduring non-conformity
  2. Creativity
  3. Strongly motivated by an exceedingly powerful curiosity and related exploratory behaviour
  4. An enduring and distinct feeling of differentness from others
  5. Idealism, wanting to make the world a better place and the people in it happier
  6. Happily obsessed with a number of long-lasting preoccupations (about 5 or 6)
  7. Intelligent, scoring in the upper 15% of the population in intelligence or IQ tests
  8. Opinionated and outspoken convinced of being right and the the rest of the world is out of step with them
  9. Non-competitive
  10. Not necessarily in need of reassurance or reinforcement from the rest of society
